Choosing Rozelle:

Quality Teaching & Learning for all in a Vibrant and Dynamic Learning Community.
At Rozelle Public School the motto is one we truly embrace: Live, Love,  Learn.

Caring, supportive and friendly
By joining the Rozelle Public School Community you and your child will be part of a learning environment which will offer many opportunities; the curriculum is expertly differentiated for the individual learning styles and needs of all children.
The focus is on building relationships and quality teaching and learning supported by the welcome participation of parents and the wider community within a caring, supportive and friendly environment.

Our Statement of Purpose is:
‘Rozelle Public School, in partnership with students, staff, parents and the wider community will provide an inclusive environment built on restorative practice and conducive to learning and high levels of achievement; all students have the opportunity to attain knowledge, skills, values and attitudes enabling them to be reflective, self-sufficient and self-motivated lifelong learners and happy and effective members of the global community.’

Welfare and discipline
Rozelle Public School is a vibrant learning community which is enhanced by its strong restorative practice philosophy. The proactive, positive Welfare and Discipline Policy encourages active listening by all staff and restorative approaches which include open ended questioning to promote communication, accountability and conflict resolution.

Restorative Values:
Our restorative classroom setting is one that values dialogue through an inclusive approach where everyone expects to be heard. Through this participatory process students develop the capacity to learn that emotions are an important and legitimate expression of healthy dialogue. This learning helps students to deal with conflict, tensions and difference in respectful ways that engender trust and foster healthy relationships.

Help Increase Peace
Our HIP (Help Increase Peace Program) is a peer based program which is run throughout the school and promotes affirmation of self and others, communication, co-operation, trust building and conflict resolution through use of the HIP keys.
A program for children dealing with grief, loss and change (Rainbow Circles) is also available for small groups of children.

Anti Bullying Policy
Our Anti Bullying Policy highlights proactive whole school approaches to relationship building through co-operative learning in the classroom and our social skills programs HIP and APEEL. Restorative strategies like conferencing encourage accountability, repairing of any harm done and rebuilding of relationships.
